BODY MARKING

After checking in, please go to the body marking area. Your race number will be marked on the leg and the arm. These markings are used to identify you at the start and end of the swim, as well as during the bike portion of your race.

SWIM CAPS

Race Day Events provides its participants with latex swim caps. The color of these swim caps denotes which wave you will be participating in. If you have a latex allergy, we encourage you to bring your own swim cap. The non-latex swim cap does not need to be the same color as your wave color, but if it is, that would be appreciated. If you do not have the same color, please alert the race official of your latex allergy before your wave enters the water.

WETSUITS

Each age group participant shall be permitted to wear a wet suit without penalty in any event sanctioned by USA Triathlon up to and including a water temperature of 78 degrees Fahrenheit. When the water temperature is greater than 78 degrees, but less than 84 degrees Fahrenheit, age group participants may wear a wet suit at their own discretion, provided however that participants who wear a wet suit within this temperature range shall not be eligible for prizes or awards. Age group participants shall not wear wet suits in water temperatures equal to or greater than 84 degrees Fahrenheit. The wet suit policy for elite athletes shall be determined by the USAT Athletes Advisory Council. The AAC has set the wetsuit maximum temperature for elite athletes at 68 degrees for swim distances less than 3000 meters and 71.6 degrees for distances of 3000 meters or greater. For the purpose of these rules, wetsuits are swimwear made of material providing thermal insulation. Wetsuits cannot exceed 5mm thickness anywhere. If the wetsuit is made in two pieces, the combined thickness in the overlapping areas may not exceed the 5 mm thickness limit. Any swimmer wearing a wetsuit with a thickness measured in any part greater than 5 millimeters shall be disqualified. The swim distance can be shortened or cancelled according to this table (water temperature degree F)

*Note: The temperatures above are not always the water temperature used in the final decision. Keep in mind, other factors will influence safety conditions including are temperature, humidity, acclimation, regional adaptation, and wind. If you have any questions regarding wetsuits or are looking for a wetsuit rental for your race, please call Playtri Delafield at 262-646-7308 with any inquiries.
