Dare2tri is an Illinois-based 501(c)3 non-for-profit organization with the mission to positively impact the lives of athletes with physical disabilities and visual impairments by developing their skills in paratriathlon. Dare2tri empowers individuals with disabilities and gives them the opportunity to be physically active, engaged with their community, and helps them set and reach goals. Dare2tri changes lives by boosting individuals’ self-esteem, confidence, and self-worth.
Seeing the need for triathlon in the adaptive sport community and having a passion for the sport, Keri Serota, Dan Tun, and Melissa Stockwell banded together to start Dare2tri Paratriathlon Club, a 501(c)(3) organization.
With its 2011 inception, Dare2tri enlisted the help of head coach Stacee Seay and secured partnerships with Great Lakes Adaptive Sports Association (GLASA) and the Chicago Park District to create the perfect blend of skills and support to provide high-quality programs for athletes with physical disabilities and visual impairments.
Beginning with only a handful of athletes, Dare2tri has impacted more lives and helped more athletes cross the finish line than ever imagined. Dare2tri wants to keep the momentum going and continue to inspire many more athletes far into the future.
