Bringing a Fun TRY Challenge to our local community is an awesome way to raise funds for our Volunteer Rescue & EMS squad and help support the Parks & Rec Youth scholarship fund. It is also an excellent way for people who would like to try a multisport event without the pressure of competition, timing and rigid rules.
Over the past several years, I've competed in runs, duathlons, and triathlons, ranging from sprints to full distance Ironman, with the goal of raising funds for a variety of charities, improving my personal times and finishing healthy. I'm grateful for the opportunity to share this with others looking for ways to enjoy staying fit and challenge themselves.
Funds received by the NTB Volunteer Rescue & EMS will be used to purchase rescue equipment and medical supplies needed to provide EMS & rescue services to the residents and visitors of North Topsail Beach. The all volunteer squad provide EMS, water rescue and vehicle extrication services.
The funds received by the Onslow County Parks & Rec department will help support the youth scholarship fund enabling local youth to participate in sports and educational programs offered by Onslow county.
