Details

Handlers provide assistance to an adaptive athlete who requires physical assistance in transition or at the water. Handlers work in teams of two with athletes who need the assistance. Because this involves carrying some athletes, these roles require the ability to work in sync with another handler to lift and carry an athlete short distances to and from the water & to transfer into their equipment in the transition area. Also must be able to communicate verbally and clearly with those you are assisting. You will trained how to preform the task and have opportunity to practice real time on Friday & Saturday before the race on Sunday. Contact Scott for password.

NOTE: you will NOT be directing motor vehicle traffic in any manner; just make sure athletes don't take a wrong turn. Have transportation to get you out to one of approximately 11 assigned spot on course; supportive role to ensure athletes stay on route; remain in place until "sweeper vehicle" that follows last athlete comes by to dismiss you. Will stand or sit off the road and use arms/hi-viz flags to point direction; NOTE: you will NOT be directing motor vehicle traffic in any manner; just make sure athletes don't take a wrong turn
