Details

Help participants get set up in transition, once the bike portion of the race starts, need at least one person where athletes are allowed to mount their bike (near parking lot). Need to make sure athletes dismount their bike at the same line and run bike into transition.

Help keep transition secure, just for participants, and only let people remove gear at appropriate time on schedule.

Adult Run Water station (08:30 am- 11:30 am)

Details

Set up table, water jug, cups, fill cups to hand to runners on both legs of the run (9:00-9:35 am and again 9:50-11:15 am)

Location

1-mile mark on run course (1st leg run goes past to 1.5 miles, turns back and by water stop again; 2nd leg runners go to the 1- mile mark and water stop and turn back to the finish line)

Details

Wear a safety vest and make motorists aware bicycles crossing a road junction within Lake Pueblo State Park. There are six (6) road junctions, we would like to have 8 people helping highlight safety along the 3-mile stretch to Highway 96.

Law enforcement is hired to help bikes make turn around on west Hwy 96 and then left turn from Hwy 96 back into Lake Pueblo.

Keep water and gatorade jugs filled, cups available near transition and finish area. If jugs run empty, campground west of venue has running spigots.

Youth Run Water Station (11:15-1:15)

Offer water to youth runners, cheer them on and warn other trail users to watch for the kids running.

Far side of pond along trail/fence about 0.3 mile from finish (run course is 0.6 mile lap around the pond)

Root Beer Floats for kids (12:15-1:30 pm)

Youth Bike Course and Count Laps (11:30-1:30)

Details

Wear a vest and keep kids safe on the bike course - notify motorists kids are riding the quiet road to fishing areas. Halt traffic for turnaround spots.
Bike lap counters: use roster of numbers to count laps for 9-15 year old athletes, let them know when to turn back to venue

Location

1- West end at trail crossing uphill from venue
3 - East end near Anticline Pond (3 volunteers with fisherman, parking lot and turn around)
2 - Bike lap counting at left turn back into venue

Full-day race volunteer (7 am-2 pm)-flexible location

Sign up here if you are flexible to work anywhere we need you. To host a safe, quality event, we need a lot of dedicated volunteers. You might help as course marshal, finish line area, transition, packet pick up/awards, etc. If you want a specific area, sign up under that spot.

Bike Mechanic and Sweep

Help with bike mechanical support before and during the race. On course with truck and radio to help with flat tires or minor repairs.

Awards, results and medal coordinator 11-1:40 and 12:45 for kids

Set out awards by 11:00 am near announcer. Set out age groups in stacks, assist race director announcing names and hand out awards.

We love to have kids help hand out flowers to moms finishing the race, pull timing chips off finishers, help with crowd control so people don't walk in the way of athletes still competing
