REFUND & TRANSFER POLICY
Thank you for your interest in registering for the Santa Rosa Island Triathlon. We look forward to having you race with us. We highly recommend you read the following policy prior to registering.
No Refunds
Once you register for the Santa Rosa Island Triathlon, all registration fees are non-refundable. This includes if you are unable to attend due to personal reasons, non-training, illness, injury, family emergencies, difficulties with travel or scheduling conflicts.
We strongly encourage you to consider purchasing event insurance at the time of registration to protect your investment in case you are unable to participate. You will be directed during the registration process to purchase this event insurance.
Military Orders Exception: If you are unable to participate due to active military orders, you may submit appropriate documentation (e.g., deployment orders) to receive a refund of your registration fee, minus a processing fee.
Event Transfers
Transfer to another athlete: If you are unable to race, your registration cannot be sold or transferred to another person without the permission of the race director (contact santarosaislandtriathlon@gmail.com).
Transfer requests must be done before September 15th, 2025.
The cost to transfer a registration is $30.00 per transfer.
Transfer to a different event: You are able to change the event you are participating in all the way up to packet pick-up. (example – sprint triathlon to aquabike). If you want to change from sprint triathlon to a relay this can be done if the race is NOT sold out. Additional fees will be applied for additional team members.
Deferrals
We do not offer deferrals to subsequent years for any reason. We strongly encourage you to consider purchasing event insurance at the time of registration to protect your investment in case you are unable to participate.
Event Cancellation or Postponement
If the race is canceled or postponed due to reasons outside our control we do not offer refunds. This includes, but not limited to, weather conditions, Acts of God (such as natural disasters, severe weather, or emergencies), government regulations, civil unrest, public health emergencies, or other unforeseen circumstances, no refunds will be issued. These types of situations are considered "Force Majeure" events.
Participant Responsibility for Safety: If the event is still held despite challenging circumstances (e.g., adverse weather), it is the sole responsibility of each participant to assess their own safety and well-being before choosing to participate. Participants are encouraged to make their own determination regarding whether they should participate in the race based on the conditions at that time. By registering for the event, you acknowledge that your participation is at your own risk, and no refunds or deferrals will be issued if you decide not to participate based on safety concerns.
Event Changes
We reserve the right to alter race details, including the course, race schedule, and amenities, at any time. Changes will be communicated to registered participants, but no refunds will be offered for changes in the event format.
Our policy reflects the industry's common practices and ensures we are able to continue providing quality events while balancing the needs of all participants.
