EVENT RULES

Competition Rules:
SRI TRI is santioned by USA Triathlon, all USA Triathlon (USAT) Competitive Rules will apply and will be enforced by race directorship as well as USAT Officials present at the event.

USAT Membership:
Per USA Triathlon requirements, all athletes must hold a current USAT annual membership or purchase a one-day membership.

Course Time Limits:
The Bike course closes at 9:30am.
The Run course closes at 10:30am.
Event staff reserve the right to remove any athlete from the course following course closure.  Athletes may also be removed from the course if event staff determine it is no longer safe for the athlete to continue.


Dropping Out Of The Event During Competition:
Athletes electing not to complete the course must return their timing chip at the finish line and notify race management.

Timing:
The event will be professionaly scored by A Matter of Timing.
Athletes will wear a timing chip during the entirety of the event.


Weather Policy:
The safety of all athletes and volunteers is the primary concern.
In the event of inclement weather, every attempt will be made to maintain the safety of everyone involved which may include an altered course layout, a shifted timeline of event, or outright cancellation of the event.

Event staff and volunteers will work with local permitting authorities, safety personnel, and law enforcement on determining any such alterations to the event.

Official tropical weather watches and warnings which include the event location will not be overriden by race staff or volunteers.

Athletes will be informed of such a change via postings (e-mail, social media) as well as .announcements at the race venue.


Wetsuit Policy:
As the event is officially sanctioned by USA Triathlon (USAT), it will follow the USAT wetsuit policy.  Notification of official water temperature will be broadcast via audio announcement (race-day morning) as well as via social media should the official water tempertaure be declared prior to race-day morning.
