How fundraising works for causes

Rider/Team Election: A participant or a team of participants registers for Ride For A Cause and chooses a new organization as the specific cause they want to support through their fundraising efforts.

Cause Inclusion: Once the organization has been elected by a rider or team, we will add the organzation to our official list of available causes on the Ride For A Cause website. This allows the electing rider(s) to formally designate the organization when setting up their individual or team fundraising page.

Peer-to-Peer Fundraising: The rider or team then actively fundraises on behalf of the cause organization. They will use our online platform to create personalized fundraising pages, share their story, and encourage their friends, family, and networks to donate to your cause through their participation in Ride For A Cause.

Fund Disbursement: After the Ride For A Cause event concludes in October, we will issue a single check to the cause organization for 100% of the total amount raised on behalf of the cause organization.

Transparency and Tracking: You and your supporters can monitor the overall fundraising progress for all participating causes, including yours, on our dedicated donation page: https://www.medfordrideforacause.org/Race/Donate/OR/Medford/RideForACause2024?edit=#tab-charitySelect. This page provides a real-time overview of the funds being raised for each listed cause.
