Description

For May, Mental Health Awareness Month, Aardvark is embracing our core value of caring with a monthly movement challenge. Aardvark is proud to partner with a budding non-profit, TALK TO YOUR MATES, founded by our own Jon Notary. This challenge will be free for participation. With this monthly challenge, Aardvark Sports Shop is looking forward to assisting in funding the start of TALK TO YOUR MATES through the sale of co-branded merchandise and providing donation opportunities.

What is the TTYM Challenge 150 x 4? A challenge for the month of May in recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month.  Let’s prioritize mental health and connection by committing to 150 minutes of moderate-intensity exercise per week. That’s just 30 minutes 5 days of the week which can significantly improve our mental health, potentially reducing symptoms of depression, anxiety, and stress, while boosting mood, self-esteem, and overall well-being. Whether it’s a walk, run, pilates, dancing, or hitting the gym, every step counts.  During the challenge, do your best to do at least one of these 5 - 30 minute sessions of activity with a buddy! Every conversation counts too, so TALK TO YOUR MATES and together let’s move for our minds and feel the difference. Who’s in?

Why? because engaging in 150 minutes a week of moderate-intensity exercise can significantly improve mental health, potentially reducing symptoms of depression, anxiety, and stress, while boosting mood, self-esteem, and overall well-being…and being side by side with someone invites conversation and encouragement.

TTYM Mission: TALK TO YOUR MATES exists to spark a men’s mental health movement, driven by candid conversations, accessible resources, and targeting funding for support services.

With a call to Look Up…Team Up…and Open Up…TALK TO YOUR MATES seeks to assist others in their own mental health journeys. Look Up through awareness of our own and other’s struggles…Team Up through the understanding there is strength in community and we need each other…and Open Up through honest and real conversations of where we are in our journeys.

Though TALK TO YOUR MATES exists to spark a men's mental health movement, this challenge is open to people of all gender identities. We hope you join us this May!
