Atomic Man Triathlon - Half Iron Distance 2016

The Atomic Man Triathlon is Tennessees oldest half iron distance event and part of the ATOMIC WEEKEND along with the Atomic Sprint Triathlon & Duathlon. 2016 celebrates the 14th year of the event that has won praises from athletes, spectators and officials as one of the best half iron distance races in the Eastern US. Awards 3 deep in 5 year age groups, Finishers Medal & apparel, packet includes shirts, race socks, Hammer Products & more. Over $1k in door prizes from Rudy Project, XX2iOptics, XTERRA Wet Suits, GU & more.

Race date & time: Sunday, October 9, 2016- 7:30 AM EST start  - Note: we currently have "no time cut-offs" - historically, longest segment times have been: swim 1:15, bike 4 hours, run 3:45 - finish line, music, etc. will be in place for all finishers - venue tear-down may begin depending on severe weather forecast, as in 2014.

PACKET PICKUP & LATE - PICTURE ID REQUIRED Saturday, Oct. 8th 6 PM - 7:30 PM - also pre-race dinner at race site. Race morning from 6 AM to 7 AM at race site. Registration is open race morning!

RACE LOCATION- The TVA Melton Hill Recreation Area is located outside Lenoir City, TN just off Hwy 321/95. The race site is about 30 miles West of Knoxville. From I-40 exit #364 towards Oak Ridge approximately 1/2 mile to park entrance on your RIGHT Look for Mastercraft banner! The three large parking lots are 1.3 miles into the park on the left before the dam. Camping on site is $17 night/ per site. Hot showers!

USAT Info: ALL USAT RULES APPLY – Atomic Man Triathlon is a USAT sanctioned event. USAT officials will referee the event.

Age Groups and Awards: Overall awards for the top three male and female finishers & top three male and female masters. Age group awards for first, second, and third place in the following M & F age groups: 12-15, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45- 49, 50-55, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 and over & top 3 Clydesdale & Athena. Open Relay Division: Male, Female, and Co-ed.

Melton Hill Campground - Campground is right across park access road from transition and finish area. The availability of sites should be good being earely October. Here is a link to reservations through the Recreatiuon Resource Management site. You can get sites on a "walk-up" basis but I'd recommend viewing on-line availability, map, etc. to get a spot that wil work for you.
