COURSE
Course Details
Transition: The transition area will be located in the grass area adjacent to Fontana Beach. The Swim IN will be directly from the Beach. The Bike OUT will be on the south side of the transition and the Bike IN will be on the north side of the area. The Run OUT will be located on the north end of the transition, in the same general area as Bike IN.
Swim: The swim will take place in Lake Geneva, with waves starting from Fontana Beach. The Sprint swim will be one lap and the Olympic swim will be two laps.
Bike: The bike course will navigate the rolling hills surrounding Fontana. The bike route is an out and back course. The Sprint bike course will take a left turn at mile 5.8 to ride the remaining distance on the way back to the transition area. The Olympic bike course will take a right turn at mile 5.8 (same spot as the Sprint turnround) and continue to mile 12.4, where Olympic riders will turn around and ride the same route back to transition. No Drafting.
Run: The run will take participants through the streets and parks of Fontana and William's Bay. The Sprint run course will follow the scenic road along the beach and lake homes to mile 1.6, then turn around and return on the same route to the Finish. The Olympic run course follows the route as the Sprint course to mile 1.6, then continues with a loop on tree lined streets and an exciting trip through the Yerkes Observatory at mile 2.9. After exiting the Observatory at mile 3.6, the Olympic course loops around and returns along the same route as the first few miles of the course for to the Finish line.
Finish Line: The Finish line is located on the street near Lake Geneva Marine and the beach, which is generally close to the Run OUT area of transition.
