These volunteers must be able to climb and descend the steps repeatedly throughout the race. The primary concern is safety, so they pay close attention to each racer. It requires having the presence of mind to act with decisiveness if/when there is an emergency. Race marshals coordinate with their Area Lead, Field Lead, and the Medics. Safety training is provided so that Marshals understand the additional safety protocols and expectations.
Race Marshal Volunteers are responsible for the following:
o Complete the online volunteer form by 6/30
o Participate in a Volunteer Training Zoom on 7/13 (10:30am - 12:30pm)
o Participate in a mandatory Safety Training Zoom on 7/23 (7pm - 8pm)
o Participate in 1 of 3 Pre-Event Tasks
• Race Packet Assembly 7/30 (Lakewood YMCA from 5pm - 8pm)
• Pre-Packet Pick Up 8/1 (Lakewood YMCA from 4pm - 7pm)
• Field Set Up 8/2 (Stadium Field from 3pm - 8pm)
o Volunteer on Race Day 8/3
