Details

We break the process down into many stations, but essentially athletes who have signed up for the race come and get all their materials and questions answered before the race.

We give them their "Packet" which contains their race number, timing chip, sticker for bike helmet, sticker to mark their bike all in an envelope.

they get a tshirt (size is marked on the label) and goody bag.

Swim cap station- for the wave /group they are starting in.

Run Course Manager High Priority

Details

You will be responsible for checking in your course monitors and then picking up the course signs after the last runner has gone by, so that volunteers know they can leave their post!

If you don't have a vehicle that can hold the signs, just gather as many as possible and put them in a pile on the corners so that it makes teardown easier.

Bike Course Monitors High Priority

Details

You will be posted at an intersection on the bike course to make sure cyclists make the correct turns and the residents are aware the race is going on.

You are dealing with auto traffic so you will wear a vest and need to be assertive and visble on the corners so that people are aware something is going on!

Swim Course Monitors High Priority

We need help with counting people in and out of the water, as well as some strong people to actually stand in the water and help people to their feet when they exit the swim course

You will help with the after party- with refreshments when athletes are finished the course

Transition Area Monitors High Priority

Details

You will make sure that only registered athletes are allowed in the transition area and that once the area is closed and the timing mats are turned on, nobody enters unless racing.

There are two gates in the transition area so it important that people are entering and exiting the proper gate. (Otherwise, it will mess up their time and they will be very unhappy at the end.)

Bike Mount/Dismount Line High Priority

Details

You will be at the mount dismount line so that athletes get on/off their bicycles at the point before advancing onto the bike course. This is a fast moving spot and sometimes cyclists can fall if they come in too fast. Need an assertive, engaged personality who is comfortable giving commands,

Lifeguard High Priority

You must be 13 or older to volunteer for this task.

Monitor the swimmers IN the water and be prepared to assist in an emergency situation. We will have kayakers to provide pool noodles for athletes to rest and collect themselves and boat support to actually pull the athletes from the water, as well.

Set up High Priority

Details

Help unload trucks and set up the event! Transition area, registration, etc. The heaviest items might be 30 pounds tops. Mostly, it is a lot of trips to the truck, lots of pieces, lots of gear.
