Saturday Swim

Swim Start

Help line up and direct athletes for the start of the swim course

Swim Kayak

You must be 16 or older to volunteer for this task.

Use your own kayak or use provided kayak during swim portion of race to help direct athetes on the swim course as well as to provide "safe haven"" for any athletes who may be struggling. You are the frontline assistance for struggling swimmers and probably the most important volunteer at the event."

Swim Exit

Saturday Transition/Timing

Transition

Before the race, you will help direct athletes to their correct rack, during the race, you will help athletes find their bike & get through transition. You will additionally keep spectators from entering transition, etc.

Course Marshal

Direct runners and/or traffic on the running course. May need to drive or walk 1 to 1.5 miles to assigned location prior to the race.

Finish Line Volunteer

Details

Hand out finish medals, collect shoe tags, assist with stocking post-race refreshments.

Photographer

Details

Take race pictures before, during and after race, may be stationed at finish line or other area of the race. Photos can be candid or finish line. Can utilize own camera, or one provided by Heartland Endurance Sports.

Timing

Assist head timer with setup, tear down, and race timing duties during the race.

DJ

Play music, make race announcements, etc. on Heartland Endurance Sports PA system or on your own PA system.
