Parking Assist High Priority

Details

Arrive 1 hour before race time, get a reflective vest, collect a 2-way radio, then go to your assigned parking lot. Remain there until the lot is full. Use the radios to communicate with the other parking volunteers. Please hold a few spots open at the Nature Center lot for any seniors or persons who need assistance in getting to the race village.

Race Check-In High Priority

Details

Arrive early; check-in pre-registered participants, give them their race bib and safety pins. Make sure they have a predicted time for the 4 Mile Run.

Course Set-Up High Priority

Active Race Support

Course Marshals Medium Priority

Minimum met.

Details

4 Mile Run. Stand at all road intersections and direct runners to keep them on course. Watch for traffic to ensure the safety of all runners, park visitors, and passers-by.
1Mile Run - place a cone at the turnaround and make sure all runners make the turn.

Finish Line High Priority

You must be 16 or older to volunteer for this task.

At least 1 more volunteer needed.

Details

You are to assist at the finish line by helping with the order of finishing and the correct reporting of bib numbers. Arrive 30 minutes before the race to receive instructions. You will need to know how to distinguish between the 4 Mile participants and 1 Mile Kids Run participants as they will be crossing the finish line together.

Sag Wagon Operator High Priority

At least 1 more volunteer needed.

Details

Drive the Kubota RTV following the last race participant in the 1 Mile race and the 4 Mile race. For the 4 Mile race, collect all race directional arrows and cones and bring to the Nature Center

Photographer Low Priority

You must be 18 or older to volunteer for this task.

Details

Take high resolution photographs with a digital camera

Post-race & Awards

Post-race Refreshments Low Priority

At least 1 more volunteer needed.

Details

Set up area(s) for refreshments and monitor supply.
Pre-race: Make coffee, hot water for tea and cocoa. Place hot beverage cups, arrange cocoa packets, tea bags, sweeteners, creamers, spoons or stirrers, etc. Napkins.
Post-race: Beverages - place water, gatorade, juice drinks, etc. in accessible area. Also place snacks such as bananas, chips, fruit bars, within reach.
