Tri Like A Lady - Beginner Triathlon Clinic

Hosted by the USATriathlon SW Women's Coaching Council and The Bear Mountain

This is a  free, one day clinic to introduce ladies of all levels to the basics of triathloning. An advanced clinic will be offered later in the month.

Topics to be covered:

Triathlon 101: How Not to Drown, Crash, Trip, or Forget to Pick up the Kids…basic principles and rules of the triathlon as well as provide tips to help balance your training with raising your family

The Swim – Goggle Marks are Sexy! Whether you can swim the American crawl like Michael Phelps or just dog paddle, we will get you in the water to work on your stroke as well as explain the dynamics of the open water swim.

The Bike  - Change a Flat in 2.2 minutes and Make the Most of Your Ride! Learn basic bike care, shifting instruction to maximize your power and effort, as well as the rules during the triathlon regarding drafting, dismount, etc.

The Run: Oh no, My Legs are Jello!! Many women approach the triathlon with a running background, but it is certainly different when you transition off the bike to the run. Tips to make this easier as well as practice and experience!

Transition Checklists – Everything but the Kitchen Sink…We will go over checklists, common mistakes, and tips to get you in and out as fast as possible with the least amount of stress. We will also discuss nutrition at this session; the before, during and after needs all female triathletes have.

Wrap Up - Topics To Be Determined by the Needs of the Group. A fun and festive approach to practice all three disciplines as well as transitions without the stress and pressure of your first race. And celebration festivities afterwards, to be sure!

 What To Bring:

Goggles and Swim Cap

Water Bottle

Sunscreen

Bike if you have one

Helmet - No helmet, no ride. NO EXCEPTIONS... yes that is yelling.

Running shoes, socks

Towel

A festive and brave attitude!! This is a new exciting beginning for everyone!!!
