This race will take place between the adult and kids events on Race Day. (approx. 10am)
Everyone who participates in this event will receive an "I ran Doug's Dougling Dash Around Baldwin Lake" sticker!
The Story:
The Dougling was a creative idea that started with Co-Race Director, Doug Hinken, in 2023. To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Tri, Doug decided to loop in a little Greenville heritage with this iconic event. Many of the early Greenville settlers were from Denmark, so our City is deeply rooted in Danish heritage. One popular story of Danish author, Hans Christian Andersen, is the tale of the Ugly Duckling. So to celebrate 10 years of our triathlon, Doug Hinken competed in our triathlon and told the story of the Ugly Duckling. He swam as the egg, biked as the Ugly DOUGling, and finished by running as a beautiful swan. Now, the Dougling is back to dash around the lake in this special event!
