USMS Open Water Grand Prix
We are beyond excited to be a part of the USMS SOUTH CENTRAL ZONE OPEN WATER GRAND PRIX SERIES! Make one stop on the Grand Prix with us this June, and come back in October for the Series Final Event, when the Zones Overall Awards will be given. Join us for the Shark Attack and Take the Challenge!
The South Central Zone is made up of the Arkansas, Gulf, Oklahoma, North Texas and South Texas LMSCs, and is a great partner for open water Masters swimmers. The Grand Prix Series was created to encourage and support open water swimming throughout the zone, and it's a fun way to get out there and swim!
Each stop on the Open Water Challenge offers three different distance options for swimmers - Short, Middle and Long. Swimmers will compete for overall male and overall female in each of the three distance categories. Athletes will be scored through 10th place and the swimmer with the highest cumulative point total in each category at the end of the challenge will win! If you swim any event, you’re automatically in the Grand Prix, and you must participate in at least two of the stops to be eligible. Swimmers who swim at all stops will win a Zone Full Participant Award!
The awards for the Zone Overall Awards and Full Participant Awards will be given at the Shark Attack race in October! Don't miss it!
