Description
This exciting two stage adventure race consists of a three-mile paddle on the scenic Catawba River followed by a 5K Run on the Piedmont Medical Center Trail. Kayaks, Paddle Boards, Youth and Adult divisions welcome and participants can compete solo or as two person relay team. Whether you are a river rat or 5K warrior, this off-beat duathlon will surely challenge your mind, body and spirit and reconnect you with nature and the great outdoors! Sponsored by the Pump House American Restaurant and coordinated by Rock Hill Parks, Recreation and Tourism. Proceeds benefit the Nature Navigators Endowment, a component fund of the Foundation For The Carolinas.
ONLINE REGISTRATION CLOSES JUNE 6 AT 5:00 PM. After that, on-site registration ($50.00 per person) will be available the day of the race from 6:00-7:45 am.

NEW FOR 2018--ADAPTIVE WAVE!
We are excited to announce that this year we are adding an Adaptive Wave for participants with physical or mental disabilities. Please read the additional information (PDF below) about the Adaptive Wave BEFORE registering. To be eligible for the Adaptive Wave, participants must have one of the following conditions:
- Mental/Cognitive disabilities diagnosed by a medical professional
- Physical disability diagnosed by a medical professional
- Amputation of major extremity

Additional Event Information
- Additional waivers will be emailed to all participants before the race and will be available on-site the day of the race.
- Participants are required to wear an inherently buoyant (non-inflatable) USCG Type III or Type V AT ALL TIMES while on on the water.
- Paddling-specific helmets are suggested for all participants. We STRONGLY RECOMMEND that ALL SUP racers wear a paddling-specific helmet.
- Registration is non-refundable and non-transferable after June 1, 2018.
- Event will proceed rain or shine unless conditions are deemed unsafe by the Race Director.
- Headphones, iPods, MP3 players, etc. are discouraged for the safety of all participants.
- All participants are responsible for making their own decisions while on the water including, but not limited to; which equipment to use, which route to take, whether their skill and experience level are appropriate for this experience based on current or anticipated weather/water/trail conditions.
- Volunteers and rescue personnel will be on site during both portions of the race; however, all participants are responsible for self-rescue while on the river.
- Kayak rentals for this event will be available from area outfitters. Check back for a complete list of permitted outfitters for this event.
- Awards will be given in categories that will be determined by participant registration (e.g. boat length, age, gender, relay, etc.)
- Every participant is required to turn in a signed City of Rock Hill waiver (click here for waiver) before participating in the race. Parents or legal guardians must sign a waiver for any participants under the age of 18.

- 6:30am - 8:00am - Packet pick up, equipment drop off, and shuttle service available
- 7:30am - Wave 1 - Adaptive Wave
- 8:00am - Wave 2 Paddleboards Only
- 8:20am - Wave 3 Kayaks
- 8:40am - Wave 4 Kayaks
- 9:00am - Wave 5 Kayaks
- 9:20am - Wave 6 Kayaks
- TBD - Awards ceremony after last wave is completed
