Description
Run-Bike-Run
The Du the Dirt Duathlon is an off-road run, bike, run event to help break the monotony of winter training and introduce you to the joys of doing it in the dirt. This fun event is beginner friendly and open to the whole family ages 8-80 (and beyond if you're up for it). All trails are fairly groomed, with no crazy elevation or obstacles to navigate. You are welcome to ride any trial-ready bike you want, but we suggest a mountain bike or gravel bike with at least 1.5" (35mm) wide tires to have the most fun. Serious climbing gears will not be needed, but you'll want to ride something that can handle dirt and gravel. Event distances are intended to be doable for beginners, but still fun for the record setters. We offer a full distance event for individuals and relay teams, and a new half-distance mini sprint duathlon for the total beginners. We'll have the usual chip timing to keep score, but we want everyone to have a good time and give it their all. Winners will be awarded for overall and age group champs. We want this event to help show you how much fun off-road events can be, while helping to test your early season fitness. If you're a trail runner with a bike, you should try your hand at multisport competition. If you're a cyclist looking for a new challenge, break out the running shoes and try your hand at a Duathlon. If you don't want to do both sports, grab a friend, think of an awesome relay team name and join the fun as a Du the Dirt Duo. There's room for everyone at this event. This event is definitely beginner friendly.
