Information

The Preserve at Lakewood is a 120-acre parcel of land which features forest land, dirt trails, parking for 200, and of course, The Sustainability Education Center. The land is home to countless plant/animal species. Upon visiting, you can see red cedar and maple, hickory and flowering dogwood trees, white-tailed deer, eastern cottontail, woodchucks, box turtles, various types of mockingbirds, woodpeckers, blue jays and more. Join us at the nature preserve for an event that welcomes every level of runner! This event takes an interesting twist on the backyard style of racing! We will have finisher awards for everyone who completes at least 13.1 Miles or more. Along the way you can knock out some distance marks but in the end there may only be ONE Winner or possibly No Finishers!

All participants will start at 6:30am. Along the way you can knock out some distance marks but in the end there may only be ONE Winner or possibly No Finishers! The race will tentatively end around 10pm with the last few runners picking up the pace every mile to beat the clock that is diminishing with ever lap! The cutoff for each lap will be one minute less than the previous lap. We will start the race at 6:30am and give runners 45 minutes to complete the 2 mile loop. Runners completing the laps early must wait for the clock to start the next scheduled lap. If you fail to complete the 2 mile loop in the required time please ring the cowbell and turn in you race bib. On the 31st lap (if we get there) the first runner to complete the lap will be the winner.

This style of event welcomes all paces and levels of runners. If you are looking to knock out your first 50k this event is for you! If you are looking to challenge your furthest distance with 50 miles step right up! And if you are looking to compete and take your challenge to the next level look no further! The course will be trail, rolling, partly shaded! Bring your 10 x 10 pop up, a lawn chair, and lets make it a party.

This event is held at a nature preserve with an old barn that has been repurposed as an educational center of sustainability and renewable energy. The 2 mile course is held on a grass path that is very wide and includes a few rolling hills. During the route keep your eyes up looking for deer, birds, and a few foxes meandering through the woods.

Athletes are permitted to have a drop bag or personal tent near the aid station in the open field adjacent to the start/finish line loop outside of fireside hall. Even if it rains. Please be mindful to place your personal belongings off the course as to not impede the runners, the flow of traffic, or other race participants.
