Welcome to Western Pennsylvania!
Here We Go! That’s how we cheer for our beloved Steelers and how Western PA will cheer for you at the inaugural Jenny Lee Tri Cup.
Western Pennsylvania and Beaver County are beautiful in June, and we can’t wait to host a Junior, Youth, and NTDR Cup event. Along with some fun age group races.
Beautiful Brady’s Run Park is located in the heart of Beaver County near the Beaver River and the towns of Bridgewater and Beaver. Hotel stays will be 12-15 minutes from the park and the hotels are 15 minutes from the Pittsburgh International Airport.
Beaver County is rolling out the red carpet for you. They are shutting down the park for the races and we will have full access to their recreation center with hot showers and a large facility for packet pick-up and a race expo.
Several races will be hosted over the Father’s Day weekend.
- NTDR (National Triathlon Development Race) Under 25 event (750 Meter Swim, 12.4 mile bike, 3.1 mile run) June 14 at 5:00 PM Men and 6:30 PM Women.
- Junior Development Semi-final Saturday, June 15, Finals on Sunday, June 16. Ages 16-19 years of age. Super sprint (375 meter swim, 10K bike, 2.5K Run) Draft-legal.
- Youth Development Saturday, June 15, ages 13-15 years of age. Super Sprint (375 meter swim, 10K bike, 2.5K Run) Draft-legal
- Youth age group 12 and under race Saturday, June 15 and 11-12 year old’s, 200m swim, 6.2 mile (10K) bike, 2K run. 6-10 year old’s: 100m swim, 3.1 mile (5K) bike, 1K run. Non-drafting.
- Middle school and high school race Sunday, June 16 (ages 13-19) Super Sprint distance (375 meter swim, 10K bike, 2.5K Run) Non-drafting
- Adult Super Sprint Race Sunday, June 16 (ages 16 and older) (375 meter swim, 10K bike, 2.5K Run) Draft-legal
The USAT Development Series consists of two competition divisions: Youth and Junior.
Youth: This division is open to athletes between the ages of 13 and 15 as of December 31, 2022. Athletes complete a super-sprint triathlon consisting of a 375m swim, 10k bike, and 2.5k run.
Junior: This division is open to athletes between the ages of 16 and 19 as of December 31, 2022.
Athletes at the Jenny Lee Tri Cup will complete a super sprint consisting of a 375m swim, 10k bike, and 2.5k run, unless otherwise noted. Day 1 will be semi-finals. Day 2 will be finals.

General Race Information
- Packet pick-up will be located at the recreation center on Friday from 1:00 PM to 5:30 PM The Expo will be open from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM and packet pick-up on Saturday from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Please bring your USAT Card for all athletes and a photo ID for those over the age of 18.
- All athletes will receive a t-shirt and a loaf of Janny Lee Swirl Bread
- Breakfast and lunch will be served each day for athletes, volunteers, officials, and staff at no cost. Spectators can make a donation to enjoy breakfast and lunch. All donations will support the Get Fit Families Athlete Scholarship Fund.
- Please review the information about arrival times and parking. That information will be posted in May. We are trying to finalize the best and most accessible parking areas.
- Please check the schedule for race day that should be posted in the next two weeks.
- There will be a virtual pre-race meeting posted prior to the event.
- It’s June in Pittsburgh, it could be rainy, cold, hot, you just don’t know. Bring your wetsuit.
- Thank our volunteers! We couldn’t hold this event without them.
- If you would like to swim in the lake prior to the Jenny Lee Tri Cup it is only allowed WITHIN THE BUOYS.
- Swimming outside the buoys could result in a fine from Beaver County.
- Keep Brady’s Run Park beautiful by picking up after yourselves.
- Entering the park after 5:30 am on race day will become difficult, you must follow the times when the roads will be open to traffic. We will post that information soon.
- Showers and on-site facilities are available at the recreation center at the entrance to the park.
Junior Prelim and Finals Information
- Day 1 will consist of 3 preliminary waves of 35 athletes per wave maximum.
- Athletes will be assigned at random to the prelim waves on day one.
- On day one, the top 6 athletes finishing in each wave will automatically move onto the finals on day 2.
- The next 17 fastest times from the prelim waves will advance onto the finals heat on day two.
- Then the next 35 fastest times will advance to the consolation final on day 2.
- Athletes who do not qualify for the Final or Consolation Wave will be entered into the Middle School and High School Non-Drafting age group race for a second racing opportunity. This way all Junior athletes have the opportunity to race both days.
- Junior entries will be capped at 105 athletes with 35 athletes in each of the 3 prelim waves.
- If we get fewer than 105 athletes, the waves will be divided up evenly between the prelim waves on day 1.

Brady’s Run Park is the largest county park comprising 2,000 acres. The many peaks and valleys of it’s 8 multi-purpose trails give plenty of opportunities for exercise amidst a lush forest setting full of oaks, hickories, and maples. The 28-acre lake at Brady’s Run allows for swimming in the warmer months, boating, and fishing.

Athlete Procedures
- PROCEDURES Please review the athlete meeting webinar when it is posted in June.
- The information below is a summary of the important information you will learn in the webinar when it’s available. Please watch it!
- Race packets include race number tattoos, a helmet sticker and bike sticker.
- Numbered swim cap and timing chip will be given out at the swim start.
- Athletes should come to transition at their assigned time with their equipment, their tattoos, and bike/helmet stickers in place.
- Athletes will be allowed to rack their bike at their assigned spot. Officials will be on hand to review their equipment after the athlete leaves the area.
- Athletes should arrive at the swim start at their assigned swim preview time. Swim caps and timing chips will be handed out at the beach.
- Once the swim warm up closes, athletes will be lined up by race number. When their name is called out, they will select their spot on the beach.
- Once the announcer reads all athlete names, he will say “Athletes, you are now in the hands of the starter.”
- The lead official (the starter) will announce “On Your Marks!” and sound an air horn to start the race
