Course Maps
Here is an aerial map of event location:
The swim portion of the race is a 300 yard indoor swim for the Sprint distance; and half of that for the Super Sprint. Racers will enter the pool one at a time, every few seconds with the quicker swimmers lining up first and the slower swimmers toward the end. It is a snake pattern swim within the pool swim lanes.
The Bike portion does have a hill (going down before the turnaround) and then uphill after the turnaround! It is not a closed course, so bike riders need to be mindful of vehicle traffic. Even though we will have volunteers along the route and your safety is important to us, please know that we will not be able to close the course to vehicles. The Sprint distance requires 2 loops of this course, the Super sprint is one loop of this course before transitioning back to prepare for the run portion
.
The above elevation mapping is for the full 2 loop course - Sprint tri is approximately 12.5 miles; the Sprint is about half that and only does the one loop!
The run is on a 'mostly closed' course, but there may be minor local vehicle traffic along the college roadways. There will be a water station that is at mile 1, which will be the turnaround for the Super Sprint; The Sprint distance is a 5k, so you will then see the water station again on your return to the finish line behind the YMCA. The course is fairly flat, but does have some gravel and you may encounter views of farm animals on the Crowder College farm.
