Description
The "Chama Yak Attack" is a 2-day cycling & trail running event set on a 3000 acre private Yak & Cattle ranch north of Chama, New Mexico. The Wolf Creek Ranch is located approx. 7 miles north of Chama, NM along the New Mexico/ Colorado border. (has nothing with the Wolf Creek Ski Area) Both events will be cycled/run on old highway roads, ranch roads, logging roads and Elk trails with elevations starting at 8,500’ and topping out at 10,100’. Cyclists and trail runners can expect to quickly challenge the best of skills and enjoy the enchanting scenery of aspens, mountain views and our New Mexico blue skies. The cycling participants can use either a gravel, cyclocross, or mountain bike to navigate the course. EVENTS FOR BEGINNERS TO HARD CORE ATHLETES IN BOTH CYCLING AND RUNNING (1 MILE - 30 MILES). Special awards will be given for men/women winners of the cycling and running events as well as the lowest combined time for both events (King/Queen of the Mountain). Teams are encouraged to participate in the combined overall event. Awards Ceremony 1:00 PM both days.
