Description

ITINERARY (Race day - Saturday, June 7, 2025)

Packet pickup, check-in and transition opens - 5:30am

Warmup opens and pre-race briefing begins - 6:45am 

Triathlon swim start and duathlon run start - 7:00am sharp

All events start and finish at 380 Witherspoon St, Princeton, NJ 08542.

Waves and Water Temperature

There will be a varying amount of time in between waves and 10 seconds in between each swim start. Athletes are to self-sort themselves into waves upon registration. 

Wave 1 (purple cap) - Paratriathlon athletes, and all duathlon athletes. 

Wave 2 (green cap) - Experienced swimmers (expected time < 6 minutes).

Wave 3 (yellow cap) - Average swimmers (expected time > 6 minutes).

Wave 4 (red cap) - Inexperienced swimmers (not expecting fast time).

Wave 5 (orange) - All youth triathletes.

Packet Pickup / Registration Instructions

Registration is digital. There are no paper applications and cash is not accepted. Online registration closes at the start of the race. 

Packet pickup will begin at 5:30am on race day. Please have the following items easily accessible at that time:

  • Proof of ID 
  • USAT membership ID

Course

The swim takes place in an olympic-sized outdoor pool, the bike will be contested on roads through historic Princeton, and the run will take place on a paved running path around a park. See below for detailed course maps. 

 

Distances can be found on the Event Info page.

Swim Course

Swimmers are to follow a "snake" pattern, swimming up and back within a large lap lane three times in a 50 meter pool for a total of 6 laps (300 meters). Youth triathletes will complete only 2 laps (100 meters). See the attached map for details

Bike Course

Participants will bike out to Moore St before completing 2 loops (outlined in yellow), then biking back to transition. Youth triathlon athletes will only compete 1 loop. 

Bike Course (Interactive)

Main Run Course

This run course will be used for all running legs excluding the first duathlon run and the youth triathlon run (both pictured below). 

Secondary Run Course (Duathlon Only)

This run course will only be used for the first leg of the duathlon race. 

Tertiary Run Course (Youth Tri Only)

This run course will only be used for the third leg of the Youth Triathlon event.

The PHS Triathlon Club has been the high school state champion for the past 2 years and has over 50 active members.
