USPC Draft Legal Triathlon Festival (Collegiate Clubs/High School & National Triathlon Development Race (NTDR) Only)
Women's Collegiate Triathlon East National Qualifier
Description
The US Performance Center Draft Legal Triathlon Festival is a day of collegiate and elite development draft legal triathlon racing featuring both a National Triathlon Development Race (NTDR) but also the Women’s Collegiate Triathlon East National Qualifier. Proudly presented by the Charlotte, NC based US Performance Center and staged out of beautiful Lake Norman State Park, this draft legal triathlon features clear water, rolling courses and great racing. The swim start features a sandy beach start and a crisp, clear lake. The bike and run courses are rolling and stay completely inside the park. Each lap of the bike and run courses bring athletes through the race site, so get ready to watch some great racing!
If you are spectating and bringing the family this is a great time of the year to be in the Carolinas. Lake Norman is home to numerous lodging options and attractions including great trail running and mountain biking in the park. You can learn more about the area HERE. Be sure to book your rooms early as hotels tend to fill up in advance.
This is the East Regional Qualifiers first year at Lake Norman State Park. You can check out video footage from prior years at Smith Mountain Lake State Park HERE.
Please note The DI, DII, DII draft legal races are for Collegiate athletes only!
The National Triathlon Development Race (NDTR) is open to high school/collegiate & elite athletes only!

Course Maps
Swim Course – The 750-meter swim will take place off the beach of Falls Lake. The water is up significantly right now, but we expect a beach start. Click HERE for the Swim Course.
Bike Course – The 12-mile bike course will consist of 4 x 3-mile loops. Each loop will race by the start/finish transition area. We will NOT be riding through transition each time. This is a rolling course with generally good pavement and long, sweeping loops at either end. There are 2 speed-bumps that athletes ride over in each direction on each lap. Yes, that’s 16 speed-bump crossings over 12 miles. We aren’t excited about the speed bumps either, just be careful and practice taking speed bumps at speed. The lap-out rule will be enforced for all races. Click HERE for the Bike Course.
Run Course – The 3.1 mile (5k) run course will consist of 3 x 1-mile out and back loops. Athletes will start additional loops at the top of the parking lot just before the finish line. Click HERE for the Run Course.
