RUN
Get ready to lace up your running shoes and hit the pavement on the flat and fast run course at the Motor City Triathlon. With options ranging from a 10k, 5k, to a 1-mile sprint, there's a challenge suited for every athlete.
Exiting Transition 2, you'll cross a bridge and arrive at the old Grand Prix pit area. Sprint and Olympic distance participants will continue straight, while Super Sprint athletes will veer left at the state park pay booth. From there, the course is well-marked with cones, chalk, and signs, along with support crew members stationed throughout.
As you make your way along the route, mile markers and aid stations will guide your journey, ensuring you stay hydrated and motivated. The course takes you along scenic paths, including a loop around the picturesque Scott Fountain and past Belle Isle's historical landmarks, such as the clock tower, observatory, greenhouse, and renowned aquarium.
With the finish line in sight and the sounds of cheering spectators beckoning you forward, you'll push through the final stretch with determination. Super Sprint athletes will head straight to the finish line, while others will loop back for additional laps or continue on to complete their designated distance.
Water and Gatorade Endurance formula will be available at each aid station, and the course will be closely monitored by the 3 Disciplines run course coordinator in the mule vehicle. If you require assistance, simply wave down the support team or make use of the first aid kits provided at each station.
As you cross the finish line, celebrate your achievement surrounded by the energy of fellow athletes and supporters. Whether you're aiming for a personal best or simply soaking in the experience, the run course at the Motor City Triathlon promises a memorable and exhilarating journey from start to finish.
