Mini Mortals Duathlon

Sat May 10, 2025 Pueblo, CO 81001 US Directions

Race Venue/Lodging

All new in 2025 - the race will be held at Lake Pueblo State Park - Kestrel Pond (formerly called Rock Canyon Swim Beach). This is a nice secluded area of Lake Pueblo below the dam and north of the river.

  • No swimming or fishing in the pond:  there is no water testing for swimming or a life guard at Kestrel Pond. But the pond has a lovely beach area, you can bring paddleboards, kayaks and tubes with a personal floatation device (life jacket) to enjoy after the race. Feel free to hang out after the race and enjoy the beach, play some volleyball or enjoy the river and river fishing nearby.
  • PARKING:
    • There is plenty of parking at the venue but make sure you park in a designated parking space! Our permit depends on people respecting the delicate prairie so consider carpooling to the race.  There is overflow parking east (downstream) from the venue or across the river.

FOOD & DRINK:

  • We will have pizza for participants, water and gatorade type drinks after the race.
  • Pack your favorite snacks as there isn't a quick place to grab a bite to eat.
  • Colorado State Parks does not allow the sale of any items without a lot of red tape.  If you'd like to set up a vendor tent, no sales are allowed, only samples and information about your organization.

LODGING or CAMPING:

  • Lake Pueblo has several campgrounds within 2 miles of the venue that will be open in early May.
  • No overnight parking or camping is allowed in the parking areas around the venue and downstream along the river or Anticline Pond.
  • If you're visiting from out of town, Pueblo and Pueblo West has a lot of hotel choices.
