Sad But True: Deep South Triathlon is Cancelling
It is with heavy hearts, but fond memories that we announce the end of Deep South Triathlon. It has been a fun ride, but all things come to an end, and given recent events including an overall reduction in triathlon participation we feel we can no longer deliver on the goal of delivering a high-quality event for our athletes. Due to this belief and the knowledge that we have the responsibility to be good stewards with your trust in producing a high-quality event, we knew this was the correct decision. It is not the one we wanted or welcomed, but after much reflection and consideration one that we are at peace with.
What Now for 2022 Registrants?
There are a couple of options to pick from and the deadline to pick one is 11:59PM Monday, May 2, 2022.
After this deadline registrations fees for all participants that have not selected an option will be donated to Camp Rainbow.
Donate your registration to Camp Rainbow
Mark this as your preference in the options below and we will take all the proceeds and make a donation to Camp Rainbow on your behalf after the May 2nd deadline. There are no other actions required on your behalf. Camp Rainbow is a great cause and has been the beneficiary of DST for the last few years. If you would like to know more about Camp Rainbow and their mission take a look at their website.

Mark this as your preference in the options below and we will issue a refund through runsignup on May 6th following the May 2nd deadline.
*Note: Selecting the refund option does not issue an immediate refund. This will be a manual action on our part on 05/06/22.
We have such fond memories of each of you and our times together. This is not the end of MS Race Management, and we hope to see you again at a local race, a charity event, an exciting destination race,

The Deep South Triathlon
One of the South’s premier independent triathlons and Mississippi’s original long course race, The Deep South Triathlon returns to Lakeshore Park in Brandon, MS for its 8th year on Sunday, October 9th 2022. Deep South Tri is known for its athlete-first approach, fantastic volunteer support and its creative and abundant participant SWAG.
The Deep South Triathlon is an independent race that puts the athlete first with each decision that is made. A race truly designed by triathletes and made with the wants and needs of triathletes in mind. We invite you to take a 1.2 mile swim in the serene 33,000 acre Ross Barnett Reservoir, a 56 mile bike ride amid the rolling hills along the rural Mississippi countryside and a 13.1 mile run while on the gently sloping paved and well supported multipurpose trail.
Whether you are racing as an individual or as part of a relay team, an experienced racer looking for that new PR, or a newbie looking to get that spectacular finisher medal, Deep South is the race for you.
