Description
This is a beginner-friendly lake triathlon which has a 1/3 mile swim, 11.1 mile bike and a 3.4 mile run. The race takes place at College Pond in Myles Standish State Forest at the College Pond recreation area.
About The Swim - The swim leg is 1/3 of a mile with a safe in-water start on sand. The water depth is 8-10 ft, with diminishing shallows to the right hand side of swimmers making for a very safe arena in case a swimmer needs to get over to shallow water. Additionally, the swim leg traverses a trail-covered peninsula making it possible for spectators to go out and watch the entire swim event up close.

About The Bike: The bike leg is 11.1 miles of open road with very low traffic. You'll be riding an out and back course with a safe loop at each end. It's almost impossible to get lost. The terrain is friendly, with a gain of only 138ft. There are 5 miles of newly-paved, flat, fast stretches so you can get into a rhythm and make some great time.

About The Run: The run is a moderately challenging but very achievable 3.45 mile loop which follows upper and lower College Pond roads before finishing at College Pond recreation area. The run does have .3 miles of scenic dirt trail, so please don't be surprised by this. It's sort of the hallmark for the race.
