COURSE DESCRIPTION
Triathlon
All participants will do a Swim, Bike, Run course following all course and transition area markings.
- LONG: 1/2 Mile Swim, 17 Mile Bike, 4.5 Mile Run
- SUPER SPRINT: 1/4 Mile Swim, 9 Mile Bike, 1.5 Mile Run
Duathlon
All participants will do a Run, Bike, Run course following all course and transition area markings.
- LONG: 1.5 Mile Run, 17 Mile Bike, 4.5 Mile Run
- SUPER SPRINT: 1.5 Mile Run, 9 Mile Bike, 1.5 Mile Run
AquaBike
All participants will do a Swim and Bike course following all course and transition area markings.
- LONG: 1/2 Mile Swim and 17 Mile Bike
- SUPER SPRINT: 1/4 Mile Swim and 9 Mile Bike
Swim
All participants will swim the course within Lake Lenape West based on their event:
- LONG Triathlon: 3 Laps (4.5 Miles)
- Super SPRINT Triathlon: 1 Lap (1.5 Miles)
- Duathlons: 1 Lap (1.5 Miles)
- 1 Mile Swim (Purple)
All participants will run into the lake, and swim around the buoys staying to the right of the buoy in a box swim. At the 4th buoy the participant will make a left and go back around the course a second time, swimming to shore and running up for a beach finish through the finish line.
There will be lifeguards, rescue boats, surf boards, and the police department’s dive team on hand to assist any swimmers having difficulty. Wetsuits are permitted regardless of the water temperature; except for the 1 Mile Swim. 1 Mile Swim (Friday night) participants are not permitted to wear a suit to be eligible for awards. Water temperature is expected to be above 75 degrees F.
Bike
All participants will bike the course starting within Lake Lenape West and following the course within Hamilton Twp's roadways based on their event:
- LONG Triathlon/Duathlon/AquaBike: 17 Miles
- Super SPRINT Triathlon/Duathlon/AquaBike: 9 Miles
The 9.0 mile bike will be an out and back course. We close the bike course to vehicular traffic, so racers can enjoy a traffic free event. Riders will exit the transition area and head out of the park. Make a RIGHT onto Weymouth Road. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR KNOWING THE RACE COURSE. Weymouth Roa will be closed to vehicular through traffic. However, keep in mind that residents on the road may also be on the roadway. So, heads up and pay attention to all rules of the road. A bicycle is considered a motor vehicle and you must abide by all motor vehicle laws, therefor all participant may adhere to the “rules of the road”. There will be draft marshals on both bike, foot and motorcycle. Officials have been instructed to issue no warning for drafting. NO DRAFTING WILL BE PERMITTED.
Run
All participants will run the course within Lake Lenape West based on their event:
- LONG Triathlon: 3 Laps (4.5 Miles)
- Super SPRINT Triathlon: 1 Lap (1.5 Miles)
- Duathlons: 1 Lap (1.5 Miles)
- 5K Run: 2 Laps; finishing near swim start/finish (3.1 miles)
The run is on both paved and dirt/sand roads.
The Transition Area
No riding in the transition area. The flow will be in one direction. Swim in, Bike in, Bike out, and run out will all begin from the water side and move towards the access road. Also, no spectators, support crews, husbands, wives, children, dogs, cats, fish or any other living or artificial beings are allowed in the transition area once the race begins.
