Starting Point: The bike course begins at the south state park entry/exit via an alley onto London Bridge Road, where athletes will make a left turn.
Scenic Route: As you venture along London Bridge Road, you'll be treated to picturesque views of the lake. Be prepared for rolling terrain throughout the entirety of the course.
Road Conditions: The course traverses typical sun-baked, cracked Arizona roads, presenting rough sections in some areas. Stay focused and maintain control of your bike as you navigate these challenges.
Turnaround Points:
- Super Sprint athletes will make a turnaround at the "SUPER" sign approximately 5k out.
- Sprint athletes will reach their turnaround point at the 10k "SPRINT" sign, marked by large 4' tall A-frame signs and cones in the road.
- Olympic distance athletes will continue to a turnaround point just before the highway by the mall.
Crystal Beach Section: Following the turnaround point, Olympic distance athletes will enter the residential Crystal Beach section for a challenging two-loop segment. Prepare for heart-pounding climbs and exhilarating descents that will put your skills to the test.
Transition: After completing the loops in Crystal Beach, athletes will exit onto London Bridge Road and head back to the state park south entry for transition.
Bike Entry/Exit: The entry/exit point into transition will be carpeted for approximately 300 feet over a gravel parking lot. Please note that riding on the carpet section is strictly prohibited for safety reasons.
Important Note: Athletes participating in the Olympic distance must complete two loops in the Crystal Beach section to avoid disqualification.
