Description
This is our Third race in the Epic Orthodontics Kids Triathlon Series!
Sailfish Marlins - A non sanctioned race for kids that cannot swim longer distances or without a swim aid (water wings, kick board, parent), bike is a short loop (bikes may have training wheels) and a half mile run to the finish line.
Red Marlins Division (Mid Sprint) - 50 yard swim, 1.3 mile bike, .5 mile run to finish line
Blue Marlins Division (Long Sprint)- 75 yard swim, 2.5 mile bike, 1 mile run to finish line
Packet Pickup begins at 7am at Cansler YMCA in Knoxville, tn. and will go till 9am cutting off 5 minutes for each race before they begin.
Parking available at the YMCA in designated areas.
Once you have picked up your childs packet, you will walk transition (map will be attached once determined). Once you get to transition, the parents are not permitted inside the transition area for the Blue and Red Marlin Divisions. Sailfish parents will be permitted to enter the designated transition area. Don't worry, we will have plenty of volunteers to help out the kiddos.
Schedule of events:
7am packet pickup opens
7:50am Pre race meeting for Blue Marlins
8am Blue Marlins race begins with time trial start to pool.
8:45 Red Marlins race begins after brief pre race meeting at pool
9:20am Sailfish race begins
9:45 am Awards Ceremony
There will be finishers medals for each finisher.
Awards will be given for the Blue and Red Marlin categories. The Sailfish will be given an award as well!
Top 3 boys and girls overall in each division plus top three male and female age groups.
Marlin age groups:
5 and under; 6-7; 8-10; 11-12; 13 and up
