16th annual Wegmans East Avenue Grocery Run 1K/5K/10K November 1, 2025
Walk or run with us in-person or virtually to benefit local food pantries! You’ll feel great knowing your registration fee will go directly to Rochester-area organizations providing food, hope and dignity for hungry people. Thanks to our generous sponsors, donors and volunteers, the 2024 Grocery Run raised more than $90,000 for Rochester-area food pantries. We hope to do even better this year, so please join us to make a difference!
Register by midnight on October 6th to receive your preferred size, super-soft performance-fabric race T-shirt.
Schedule
8:00am 5K and 10K start
9:10am 1K start
9:25am (ish) Boogie for Broccoli start. This is a free 50 yard run with the Grocery Guy for our littlest hunger fighters
Virtual participants can choose any distance to run, bike, walk or stroll and complete their event anytime, anywhere by race day.
5K Run or Walk
Fast, flat, urban route along East Avenue, past Martin Luther King, Jr. Park, over the promenade to the Genesee Riverway Trail and passing the ROC City Skate Park on the way to the Genesee Gateway Park with amazing views of the Genesee River and Downtown Rochester!
Cash prizes for 1st, 2nd, 3rd place and master's winners, M/F/NB (must complete 5K in 22 minutes to be eligible). Age group awards for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place M/F/NB in 5-year age groups. See award page for details.
10K Run
Fast, flat, urban route along East Avenue, past Martin Luther King, Jr. Park, over the promenade to the Genesee Riverway Trail and passing the ROC City Skate Park on the way to the Genesee Gateway Park. Continues on through the University of Rochester campus and across the pedestrian bridge to return on the other side of the Genesee River. Participants must be able to finish within 90 minutes in order to re-open streets to traffic at 9:30am
Cash prizes for 1st, 2nd, 3rd place and master's winners M/F/NB (must complete 10K in 44 minutes to be eligible). Age group awards for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place M/F/NB in 10-year age groups. See award page for details.

Little ones line up on East Ave to chase the Grocery Guy over the finish line in this free dash.
Packet Pick-Up (Bibs & T-Shirts)
We strongly encourage you to pick up materials ahead of time to avoid waiting in line on race day.
Thursday 10/30 and Friday 10/31 from 11am to 7am.

Race day volunteers needed! It takes a lot of people to make this special event happen. You and your friends/family can help make things run smoothly by volunteering as course marshals, at aid stations, for cleanup, and more. Additional information HERE.
