Description

This is a 5k race in memory of Drew Ceppetelli who passed away on Thanksgiving morning. This is an event that honors her life and raises funds for a scholarship in her name. This is a way for friends, family, and community members to come together and remember her while raising money for a fund used for people to better themselves, a cause that was important to her.
The race is an untimed event, which means that participants can run or walk the course at their own pace. The course is designed to be beginner-friendly, with mostly flat terrain, and is suitable for all fitness levels.
Participants can register for the race in advance below or on the day of the event between 8 and 8:30 AM. Donations for the scholarship fund can be made during registration or on the day of the event. Participants are encouraged to wear pink shirts (either those made for the 5k or something similar).
The 5k race is more than just a run. It's an opportunity to come together as a community and celebrate a life that was tragically cut short. It's a chance to remember a young woman who touched the lives of so many and to honor her memory by supporting a cause that was important to her.

Race Day Preparation

Those who have signed up are encouraged to attend our pre registration option at Barrington Elementary school from 5-7 PM in the gymnasium. Shirts will be given to those who were in the first 400 to register, but will not be available Wednesday night to be bought by those who were outside that range. Shirt sizes will be given on a first come first serve basis, so we encourage participants to attend the pre registration on Wednesday if they are able. Those interested will be able to purchase shirts Thursday morning starting at 8 AM for $15 (just to cover the price of production). REGISTRATION WILL BE CLOSED TUESDAY NIGHT AT 11:59 PM. Anyone who wishes to register after this has 2 opportunities, at the pre race registration on Wednesday 11/27 from 5-7 PM at the elementary school in Barrington, or on Race day morning from 8-9 AM. THOSE WHO HAVE NOT REGISTERED YET WILL NOT BE RECEIVING SHIRTS WITH THEIR REGISTRATION. Also, this year we are asking those who are running or walking to wear any costumes they’d like (Thanksgiving costumes were a favorite last year), any old dress attire you’d be willing to run in, or any pink you have.
