Swim Start Information
Swimmers will start in the pool and will be given a countdown of "3...2...1...go". That is when their time will begin. All swimmers will go off in numeric order. These numbers were assigned based on the swim seed times that were given during registration. Faster swimmers will start toward the front of the group, slower swimmers (or swimmers with no seed time given) will start toward the back. It is OK for your child to start at the back of the group if they choose. Remember, their time will not start until they are told "go" regardless of where they start. A swimmer can always tell the starter to give a little extra time before they start.
For example: There was no seed time given for Timmy so he is starting in the back of his group. But he is a fast swimmer and does not want to have to pass a lot of other swimmers. Tell him to tell the starter to give a little extra time before he starts so that the pool can clear.
Seed times can not be changed at the race. Your child can move BACK in their start time, but can not move FORWARD.
