FAQ

May my children run?

Yes! Kids can run too! and they get the same medal you do. We just ask that you ensure their safety while running. 13.1 is very doable in a month for a kid! or 26.2 in two months. Whether your 5 years old or 99 years old (stay safe and run responsibly) you can earn a medal! We know children are not often able to run Half Marathons, but here is your chance to get a real medal (not rubber) if you are too young to run in a real race. We just ask that parents watch over them and keep them safe.

Do we actually get a real medal?

Yes! It is the one pictured in the Logo. This Custom Physical medal will be mailed as soon as your payment clears and/or ONCE THE MEDALS ARRIVE. If you order engraving- medals many not ship immediately  but in batches to save on shipping costs be sent soon as possible once medals arrive! then , 1 May, or 31 May 2013

Does it have to be a race, Maryalicia? Or can it just be a run? Do training runs count?

Absolutely- any running/walking/biking/swimming/treadmill counts. No need to be in a race...some of us are just trying to double dip miles :P. AND you can backdate your miles to March 1st, 2013. This is a fun way to get some exercise in, get a cool medal, and help reach my fundraising goal of $2500 for a fantastic organization.

Why do we all pay the same price for different distances?

Because the medal, fees, shipping, ect, are all the same. You get the same support running a 5K as you do a full marathon and same medal. There is an option to pay $1 extra for personal engraving.

When will I see my tax donation?

At the end of registration I will send them your name, address, and phone number and amount donated (with the funds donated) and Autism Speaks will update their data base. Then, in January, Autism Speaks will send you a Tax deductible receipt to use on your taxes showing the full amount you donated.

Autism Speaks

Autism Speaks was founded in February 2005 by Bob and Suzanne Wright, grandparents of a child with autism. Since then, Autism Speaks has grown into the nation's largest autism science and advocacy organization, dedicated to funding research into the causes, prevention, treatments and a cure for autism; increasing awareness of autism spectrum disorders; and advocating for the needs of individuals with autism and their families.
