The Wild River Dash is a fundraiser supporting the outdoor programming of Wild Hearts Idaho!
Wild Hearts Idaho provides engaging and supportive experiences for girls aged 12-18 to explore, grow, and lead in Idaho’s great outdoors
Wild Hearts was founded to eliminate the barriers young women face to entering and feeling confident in outdoor recreation. Our primary goal is to introduce teenage girls to outdoor recreation in a way that both empowers them and builds their confidence and leadership skills. We provide a girl-and-woman-centric community where girls are immersed in the outdoors and have the opportunity to develop skills and address any fears in a safe, supportive environment.
Example adventures include hiking, backpacking, rafting, snowshoeing, rock climbing, over-night camping trips, and more! Trips focus on learning outdoor and leadership skills while building an appreciation for what it takes to respect and care for our natural environment. Trips are always FREE for participants, and any meals, gear, and safety equipment they need is provided at no cost.
Each adventure focuses on a different leadership skill such as self-awareness, risk analysis, empathy, and communication. Girls who attend more than one adventure are able to build their leadership skills and develop a personal leadership style. They also have the opportunity to join our Youth Leadership Board, a 9-month program for high schoolers that focuses on individual development through activities, community speakers, and projects.
We hope you would be able to support our programming!
