Description
The First State Duathlon is a fun duathlon competition that will take place on the trails at Bellevue State Park in Wilmington, Delaware. There are three legs to the race: a trail run, followed by a trail bike ride, followed by a shorter trail run. Athletes can race as an individual or with a 2 or 3 person relay team. Competitors will need to provide their own trail bike (and helmet) for the bike leg of the race.
The first leg distance will be approximately 5K (3.1 miles) on the Bellevue State Park cross country trail. The second leg distance will consist of three ~3.2K loops (~2.3 miles each) (total approximately ~7 miles). The third leg will be a shorter (approximately 0.8 mile) leg along the oval track/trail. The course map is available on our website and may be adjusted slightly to ensure a smooth race and transition between each of the legs and finish.
The 2020 First State Duathlon will be competitive and fun. All ages and skill sets welcome. Last year the top competitors finished in less than an hour; the slowest competitors finished in about two hours. Please visit our website for more information or for course records.
