Chip Timing by Under the Sun Events
The Discovery Bay Triathlon will be chip timed by Under the Sun Events. You will receive a reusable tri tag that will go around your ankle that must be returned after the race. There will be a $10 fee for chips that are not returned by the end of the day. You will also receive a bike number and a run bib. These may have an additional chip on the back covered by a foam strip. See below for details.
For best results please be sure the tri tag is NOT under your wetsuit.
Important Considerations when attaching Bib Numbers
Reusable tri tag/ankle strap
Please attach the velcro ankle strap to your right ankle with the plastic square on the outside. It should be attached comfortably tight. These must be worn during the swim and across the “swim in” mats to capture your swim time before entering transition. They must to be returned after you finish. For best results please be sure the tri tag is NOT under your wetsuit.
Bike Number
Please attach the self-adhesive bike number to the top tube of your bike. This number also has chip and will capture your bike out and bike in times. 
Run Bib
Run bibs also have a chip attached to the back. All athletes must wear the run bib on the front of their person at waist height. We encourage you to cross the finish line with your arms in the air celebrating the greatness of your achievement! Remember, if the finish line crew can see your bib so can the mats. Use caution when stopping your watch as your arms may interfere with the chip read.
