Niekro Foundation Aneurysm & AVM Awareness Virtual 5K

I'm running and fundraising again for this great organization in honor of Samuel, our 9 year old son. Samuel, along with his siblings and dad, will participate in the walk to boost our fundraising efforts. 

Like Joe Neikro, Samuel, and our whole family loves baseball. Like Joe Neikro, Samuel also has a beast in his brain in the form of a very large, inoperable, AVM-like mass in his brainstem and thalamus.  Because it is considered otherwise untreatable at this time, we have decided to enter a drug trial in hopes of helping.  Samuel also has a congenital heart defect that cannot be repaired because of the AVM.  

Three years ago, we decided to relocate our family closer to Samuel's specialists in Boston. It has been and continues to be a big journey that our whole family is traveling on, but the Neikro Foundation has provided our family with incredible support and resources over the years to lighten the load.  We're raising for them in gratitude so they can continue their mission of supporting AVM warriors like Samuel, AVM families like ours and research.  Support and research to provide medical breakthroughs, along with our faith, are what helps to keep giving us hope.
