I am excited to participate in the 37th Annual The Ben to the Shore, which supports the Families Behind the Badge Children's Foundation!  I was fortunate to ride in 2023 with Together with Troopers and look forward to doing it again this year.  In 2022, my life along with my two daughters was dramatically turned upside down. My husband, their father, Marty Mack was killed in the line of duty on I-95 by a drunk driver who not only took his life but two others that same morning.  His career as a Trooper with the Pennsylvania State Police was abruptly halted and instead of celebrating a career with a retirement party, I was planning a funeral.  Throughout the last two years, Families Behind the Badge provided a network to adjust to this life with the most amazing support system and to be able to ride the Ben to Shore that provides grants to families who suffer the same chaos my girls and I face is just one way to give back.  

The Families Behind the Badge Children’s Foundation (FBBCF) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit committed to improving the lives of children in the Greater Philadelphia and South Jersey area. We achieve this by providing necessary financial relief for the families of fallen or critically injured first responders (police officers, firefighters, EMTs) and cultivating positive relationships and interactions between police officers and the children in the communities they serve.
