Description
The Annie Oakley Buffalo Bill Triathlon, benefiting local cross country teams, scouts and Shelby Farms, will be held at Shelby Farms on Saturday June 29, 2024 starting at 6:30am.
Triathletes will receive a custom Tee, finishers medal, hamburger and hot dog lunch including water melon, chocolate milk and ice cream from Prairie Farms, and beer by Hookpoint Brewing.
IT WILL BE HOT, HYDRATE, HYDRATE, HYDRATE!! We will have Water and Gatorade at mile 1, 2, 3 and finish line. Cold Towels too at the finish line.
$100 cash awards will be presented to the fastest runner for women, men and relay runners in all four races.
Event participants will receive a chance to win a Giant bike and bike gear, compliments of sponsor Bikes Plus. Participants must be present to win.
The transition area will be located just north of Trap Lake next to The Greenline Trail at the traffic light at Farm Rd. The Finish Line will be located across the Greenline Trail from the transition area.

(south of Walnut Grove and Farm Rd. next to the Greenline Trail and the windmill). Parking will be in the gravel lot next to the BMX Track 1
Saturday, June 29, 2024 - 5:15 a.m. – 6:15 a.m. Packet pickup. Transition area open, swim warm up. Parking will be in the long gravel parking lot next to the BMX Track. 1
Body Marking: athletes will self body mark their own number with black permanent marker. Your race number right and left outer shoulder, right and left outer thigh, age or R for rely on left calf.
Chip Pickup: Race Morning by transition area. Bring your bib to pick up your chip.
Important Information

Your Photo ID is required to get your packet (unless you are a minor then your guardian will need to present identification) No one else can get your packet, not even relay team members. You can get your stuff but not all of your team's stuff.

Weather: we will race if it is sunny, cloudy, or rainy but we will delay for lightning. No cancellations nor refunds.

Water will be available at each mile of the run course and finish line.
We are still looking for a few good volunteers. If you have a family member or friend who would like to join us have them contact us. Volunteers are invited to join in the post-race food, & beverages

Every participant will receive a code that will enable you to refer a friend to sign up as your guest and you get money back, enough for a free entry. You will be assigned a code that you will be able to send out via Face Book, Twitter or Instagram. Any participant using your code will be added to your account, After 3 uses of your code your credit card will be credited $25, after 1 more use you will be credited $10, after 1 more use you will be credited $10 more. This will total $45 which is your entry fee.
Courses
The Annie Oakley Buffalo Bill Triathlon consist of two distances, Sprint Course, 1/2 mile swim, 14.6 mile bike and a 4 mile run, and a Super Sprint, 1/4 mile swim, 7.3 mile bike and a 2 mile run. We will start the Women's Super Sprint at 6:30 am with each triathlete starting every 3 seconds. When the last swimmer reaches the first buoy we will start the Women's Sprint Swim. After the last female swimmer reaches the last buoy we will start the Men's Super Sprint Swim, starting each triathlete every 3 seconds. We will start the Men's Sprint shortly after the super sprint enters the water.
The race will start at 6:30 am with all Female Super Sprint (1/4 mile swim) Triathletes entering the water every 3 seconds, after the last swimmer of the super sprint reaches the first turn buoy, we will start the all women sprint swim (1/2 mile swim). When the last Female Sprint Triathlete reaches the last buoy, we will start all Men Super Sprint Triathletes; entering the water every 3 seconds. We will start the men's super sprint no later than 8:00am. When the last super sprint swimmer triathlete reaches the last turn buoy , all Men Sprint Triathletes will enter the water every 3 seconds.
All Triathletes will enter the water based on their race number. Super Sprint Swim 1/4 Mile Sprint Swim Course 1/4 mile
The bike courses are one loop 7.3 miles for the Super Sprint Bike Course and two loops 14.6 for the Sprint Bike Course. You will leave the transition area and take a right on Walnut Grove Rd in the right hand lane. Take the Germantown Parkway ramp to take a left hand turn under Walnut Grove Rd, you will ride in the southbound lane next to the curb and take a left onto the ramp to go westbound on Walnut Grove Rd in the right hand lane. Ride westbound on Walnut Grove Rd and take the exit ramp for Humphreys Blvd. Take a left under Walnut Grove Rd and another left to get on the ramp for eastbound Walnut Grove Rd riding in the right hand lane. Take a right at Farm Rd to get back to the Transition Area. Bike Course, Super Sprint 1 Loop 7.3, Sprint 2 Loops 14.6
The run courses are an out and back on the Greenway, you will run over Wolf River and take a left to run along the river toward Walnut Grove Rd. The 2 mile course will turn around will be at the 1 mile mark where there will be a water stop. The 4 mile course will go under Walnut Grove Rd and run to the 2 mile mark for the turn around and water stop. Run back to the Finish Line the same way you ran out.
