Sunrise Side Triathlons & Duathlon

Sat September 7, 2024 East Tawas, MI 48730 US Directions

Description

Welcome to the Sunrise Side Triathlons & Duathlon, a cherished tradition on the serene side of our beautiful state. For 20 years, this event has graced our picturesque locale, The current Sunrise Side event evolved from what was the state's premier half-ironman venue to the ultimate "up north" triathlon of the season. While not technically in the north, locals affectionately refer to it as such, signaling the transition from tourist season to a haven for multi-sport athletes.

As the summer crowds dissipate, our charming town transforms into a bustling hub for triathletes. While many stores close their doors for the season, plenty of great restaurants and shops remain open, ensuring visitors can still enjoy the local flavors and unique finds.

Dive into the crystal-clear waters of Lake Huron, where optimal water temperatures await to enhance your swim experience. The bike course meanders through rolling terrain in the state forest, offering both challenge and beauty in equal measure. Then, embark on a lightning-fast, flat out-and-back run course that leads you through downtown before culminating in a triumphant finish.

With its idyllic September setting, the Sunrise Side Triathlons & Duathlon beckon athletes from near and far. Whether you're seeking a thrilling race experience or simply yearning for a scenic escape, this venue is well worth the drive. Join us for an unforgettable multi-sport adventure amidst the splendor of Michigan's Sunrise Side.
