Description
RUN ⋅ WALK ⋅ STROLL ⋅ TROT
Join Crisis Services of North Alabama on Thanksgiving Day morning for the 31st Annual Turkey Trot 5k! It's a family-friendly Thanksgiving tradition that brings friends, family, and neighbors together from the Tennessee Valley and beyond.
Event proceeds support victims of sexual assault and domestic violence at the starting line of their healing journey and helps guide them through the course to survivor-hood.
Walkers and Strollers Welcome!
The Trot isn't only for runners! Walkers are more than welcome and if you're rolling with a stroller or in a wheelchair, that's fine too. We just ask that you start at the back of the pack for safety purposes. This event is uses chip start technology, so don't worry about when you cross the starting line as your time will begin when you cross. Please leave your fur babies at home so we can keep the course clear and smooth.
Tiny Tot Turkey Trot
Got kids aged 5 and below? They're in for a treat with the 100-yard "Tiny Tot Turkey Trot" dash at 9:00 am. Watch as they take on our hilariously huge turkey mascot. No need to sign up in advance – just show up and have a blast. (Did we mention it’s free?)
Door Prizes
The fun isn't over at the finish line! Before awards, you'll have a chance to win some cool door prizes.
IMPORTANT:
- The race will only be called off if weather conditions jeopardize the safety of all participants. In the event of cancellation, we sincerely appreciate your kind contribution to our mission. There will be no rescheduling or refunds.
- Race t-shirts will be handed out during Bib Pickup while supplies last. We are only gathering shirt sizes to *estimate* the number we need to order. We cannot guarantee shirts or shirt sizes this year.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the Tiny Tot Turkey Trot cost anything?
Nope! No cash, no credit card, just lots of fun. (Please note: the Tiny Tot race is only for kids aged 5 and under.)
Where is the starting line for The Tiny Tot Turkey Trot?
The Tiny Tots will start at the top of the Spragins Hall parking lot. The Tiny Tots will run toward the race finish line. Look for Tiny Turkey (our terrific turkey mascot).
Where will the award ceremony be held?
That’s easy! Where you finished with your PR!
I’d like to participate. Can I just walk?
Absolutely! We always have people who want to walk the 5k, so you will not be alone!
I‘m part of a group that’s running together. Can one person pick up all the bibs?
Yes, one person can pick up all the bibs as the bibs are sorted by individual names and not group names. Simply pick whichever time and location is most convenient and you’ll be ready to trot Thanksgiving morning!
Will you have t-shirts available in youth sizes?
We will have small adult-sized shirts.
Will our family—one jogging and one pushing our child in a wheelchair—all start at the same time?
Since the event is timed using RFID chips in your bibs, you can all start at the same time and we will absolutely *love* seeing you jog, walk, and roll your way to the finish line! However, to keep things safe for everyone, we ask that anyone not running start behind those who are.
Can I push my child in a stroller in the Tiny Tot Turkey Trot so they can participate?
While we’d love for all Tiny Tots to try and out-run Tina Turkey, strollers pushed by an adult gives the rider an unfair advantage! You may, however, push your Tiny Tot and stroller in The Trot for big ol' turkeys.
Can I pick up my race packet the morning of the race?
Yes, we'll have a race morning packet pickup at Spragins Hall. Just make sure you get there early because we’ll close 10 minutes before the race with no exceptions.
Where do I park?
We’ve linked a handy-dandy PDF of the parking map above (and here it is again) with plenty of designated parking spots. HOWEVER, if you need to leave before the festivities come to a close, we don’t recommend parking at Spragins Hall. It'll be blocked off and you’ll be stuck!
May I run with my dog?
As much as we love fur babies, we don’t allow dogs on the course. Of course, all well-behaved and leashed pups are welcome to hang out and cheer you on from the sidelines!.
May I run with a stroller?
Absolutely! Strollers are more than welcome to join the race, but to keep things smooth and safe for everyone, we ask stroller-pushing participants to start at the back of the line. It's like a stroller parade!
