Hello Dragon Runners, 

We are so excited for you to have signed up to join us this Saturday August 10th for one of the toughest events in San Antonio. We know you might feel pretty nervous to come and run this event based on what you have heard, There are hills, there is heat and it is a challenging course based on the terrain. I will try to answer all of the question you may have in this email and also provide some important information for your race day items. Read each section below so that you can get the scoop in to all the items for the event. 

We have some special Items for you this year. All of our half marathoners will have some beautiful E-Dragon socks. The first 100 who signed up for the half will have a beautiful Edragon running hat. We have some beautiful sublimated t-shirts and singlets for all of our runners and so much more.

All runners that sign up on Wednesday to Friday if registrations are still available will have to pick up at Race day packet pick up.

RACE DAY PACKET PICK UP

Race Day Packet pick up is available from
5:30 to 6:25 for the Half Marathon
5:30 to 6:50 for the 10K
5:30 to 7:00 for the 5k 
You will have your chips on your bibs. 

Virtual Packet pick up

All virtual runners will get their packet in the mail by saturday.

Pearsall Park has everything you could dream of for a fun and active day outdoors: jungle gyms, a massive playground, splash pads, food trucks (on the weekends), skate and bike parks, basketball courts, a Ninja-style obstacle course and more.

RACE COURSE INSTRUCTIONS
5K COURSE
 
5k Course is a mixed Terrain Run with Hills and awesome views. You will go by four Waterstops on the course before you reach the finish Line.

10k Course Is 1 loop of the Infamous Dragons Den half Marathon Course. All The fun without the super battle of the miles and hills. Each 10k goes through 8 Water Stops on the course.

Dragon's is A mixture of Hills, Dirt, Grass, Pavement, Asphalt to Equal An amazing route. Running this loop twice has sometimes cause people to be phenomenal and they end up with a sort of glow effect from their skin. All runners will pass by 14 waterstops on the route.

RACE SCHEDULED TIMES 
DRAGON'S DEN Half Marathon 
STARTS 6:30 AM
10K STARTS AT  6:45AM
10k Runners will have 3:30 Hours to Complete the course: 
5k STARTS AT 7:00 AM
All Runners will receive A finishers Medal. Food Will not be served till 8:00 AM

Runners will have 4 hours to finish the dragons den course. If you are not through the first loop in 2 hours we will have to stop you. Please keep that in mind as you are running the first loop 
Other Important Information
Little Dragon Dash Will begin after most runners have finished. More than likely 9 to 9:30
IT IS VERY IMPORTANT YOU ARRIVE WITH PLENTY OF TIME. WE WILL TRY TO BE VERY PROMPT. ANYONE WHO MISSES THE START TIME WILL BE TRANSFERRED TO THE OTHER EVENTS
 
Weather Information
As you can clearly tell we have unprecedented hot weather all over the place and this weekend we will be at 103 degrees on Saturday. That being said Dragons Den has always been on a hot day and we always plan to make sure you the participant has everything you need to successfully and safely cross the finish line.
- We have 5 water stops on the that you will be able to take ice cold water, gatorade, and ice cold towels at each one. We will have ice cold towels at the finish line to cool you down.
- Lastly just as a precaution we have hired arch angel as our Emergency Med tech to be out at our event in case their is any emergencies during the events. One medic will be at the race finish and another will be on the course for any emergencies.
All these precautions are for our participants safety but we do ask that all our runners do their part by hydrating prior to the event 72 to 48 hours before the race with water and some electrolytes 
 
 
Running Groups 
If you are running and belong to a group, invite them to come set up a tent for the group to stay under some shade. Also bring some chairs to have a place to sit down and enjoy the post race goodies.

I want to thank you for always making this event successful and super fun. We hope to celebrate with you on race day as you cross the finish line. It has been 10 years being able to host this event and it could not be done without you guys. We hope you are ready to take on the hills and battle through the Dragons Den because it will not be easy this year but we have so much planned for you. Lets get this hot race going.
