Who is a role model for me?
I have many family and friends I’d throw in this category, but a standout is my Dad, John “Buddy” Dillon. He was the Friend of Framingham. I recall growing up, he’d speak with every person we’d see. It wasn’t to talk about himself, but to find out more about that person. It ranged from young and old, male or female, executive or part-time employee. As I watched him interact with others, I observed that each person felt special in that moment. I find myself doing the same thing, I enjoy being friendly to everyone because it’s an incremental improvement to someone’s day. I see it as a gift.
What is my favorite movie ending?
Since I consider it a gift to be friendly to others, I find the end of It’s a Wonderful Life to be my favorite movie ending. For me, every person has one life to live. George realized why friends and family are so important, and why being friendly improves lives. I cry every single time I watch that part. I understand it’s a movie and far from reality, but I find it moving and it helps me to pause to reflect on how thankful I am for the family and friends in my life and how important it is to treat people well.
Why Photography?
I have always been drawn to photography. What I strive for is taking a picture that either I or someone would hang on their wall in the most visible place in their home or office. The best photographs stop time, capturing a moment a person could see years from now and still remember vividly. The best photographs bring you in, immerse you, and keep you wishing to stay. Cell phones are great, but they can’t replace what professional lenses can produce.
I keep coming back to photography. I love it. They say you should work in a field you love, and I count myself lucky to have my camera in hand every day.
Why choose me to capture a moment in your life?
Everyone is given a gift in life. I was given the ability to capture life’s moments in images that others cherish. I love the interaction between myself and my clients, getting to know the peoples and families that I work with, and helping them to celebrate their life’s milestones.
