I was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer at 36 weeks pregnant. I was 28 years old. Who gets diagnosed at 28 years old? Well apparently this type of breast cancer is on the rise with young adults. I was induced to have my precious baby girl and started chemo 2 weeks later. I did 16 rounds of chemo, a double mastectomy, 6 weeks of radiation and now a year of oral chemo. My purpose and my testimony is to put my story out there and shine a light on the issue of breast cancer being on the rise. Self exams are so important. I found my cancer myself. I thank God everyday that I am here and we need to find a cure to this terrible disease.
I will be participating in a virtual 5K at the end of October to support the Triple Negative Breast Cancer Foundation, an organization I care deeply about and truthfully one that needs more expose. They are dedicated to help finding a cure unlike other organizations who do close to nothing with the money donated.
