The Brian Waterbury Memorial Rock to Pier in Morro Bay
Sierra Challenge Express club members take a bus trip to the 2025 Brian Waterbury Memorial Rock to Pier in Morro Bay. There are two events for you to participate in:
The Brian Waterbury Memorial Rock to Pier Fun Run is a 6-mile beach run from Morro Rock to the Cayucos Pier. The finish line is at the iconic Cayucos Pier. This event is open to participants of all ages and abilities.
The Rock’n Around the Pier Half Marathon event begins at Morro Rock, continues to the Cayucos Pier, turns around, and heads back towards Morro Rock. At 10.5 miles, the course will veer off the beach (through soft sand) and follow a 1-mile loop through a local park, returning to the beach (through soft sand) and finishing at Morro Rock.
The trip includes a bus ride, lunch, and snacks. We have 40 seats available on a first-come, first-served basis. Children aged 13 and older are welcome to join us.
The Sierra Challenge Express Club Picnic
Bring the entire family out for an afternoon of fun, food, and friends! Games and entertainment for all ages will be provided! Plus, Coach Ray will be presenting the annual runner’s awards. Feel free to bring lawn chairs, blankets -- or whatever floats your boat!
Your club will provide tacos, bottled water, and drinks; however, we ask our members to bring one of their favorite potluck dishes to share with everyone.
The Fresno Freedom Run
Kick off your 4th of July celebrations with a bang by participating in a beautiful 4-mile run, a 2-mile run/walk, or a 100-meter dash for kids! The event will take place at Woodward Park, which features hundreds of acres filled with trees, geese, and stunning wildlife. You will enjoy our course lined with American flags. We hope to inspire you to race, run, or walk to the best of your ability. Encourage your friends, family, and fellow competitors to join in. What a wonderful way to commence one of the most important days of the year for our great country!
The Fresno Turkey Trot
On Thanksgiving morning, Sierra Challenge Express presents the 27th Annual Fresno Turkey Trot at Woodward Park! For over 25 years, the running community has supported those in need within our local communities through their registrations and donations at the Fresno Turkey Trot. What a fantastic way to kick off your Thanksgiving! Run or walk on Thanksgiving morning, and then enjoy your Thanksgiving feast without guilt.
